Frequently asked Questions

No, there are so many different sizes of windows available to builders. There really isn't a standard. We recommend you measure your window(s) before you come into thestore. Having your measurements will help our sales staff ensure that your window coverings fit properly.

If you are looking to purchase hardware for curtains you already own, bring your measurements with you. It is also a good idea to check the style of curtain that you own. Do they need hooks to hang on a rod, or do they slide through? If they are meant to slide through a rod, what size is the pocket or opening? If they have hook, how many are there on each curtain. If you aren't sure how to hang the style of curtain you have, bring it into the store with you.

Pinch pleated or French pleated curtains have small stiffened folds of fabric, gathered and stitched into place at regular intervals. This gives pinched pleated draperies an elegant, flowing appearance that suits rooms both traditional and contemporary.

Grommet curtains have a stiffened heading with large decorative rings inserted through the fabric. When inserted through a rod, the rings allow the curtain to fall in even, structured folds that give grommet curtains a modern, stream lined style.

Tab top curtains have soft loops of fabric sewn onto the top of a flat panel of fabric. These loops, or tabs, allow the fabric to be suspended from a decorative rod for a casual, relaxed look.

For Drapes, Rods or Outside Mount Blinds:
  1. Measure from outside frame to outside frame in width
  2. Measure from top outside frame to bottom outside frame in length
  3. Measure length from outside top frame to floor
  4. Measure from ceiling to floor
For Inside Mount Blinds:
  1. Measure tightly from inside frame to inside frame across the width in at least 3 places, more if the window is over 72". Window frames can shift after they are installed, so it is best to make sure the width is the same across the top, middle and bottom of the window.
